FRIDAY 6TH AUGUST 2010
Jakob is a 5 year old boy who lives locally in Hazel Grove and really needs your support. We are trying to help towards the £50,000 that Jakob needs to travel to the USA to undergo a selective dorsal rhizotomy operation which will give him the best possible quality of living. All the proceeds from this great event will be going directly to the fund, so as well as having a great day you will be helping towards a fantastic cause. It will be teams of 4 with the best 2 scores to count. We are looking for 20 teams for a 1pm shotgun start. The cost per team is £180, which includes 18 holes, drinks, 3 course dinner and prizes. There will also be a raffle, beat the pro challenge and Auction on the day.

On Friday 6th August Jakob and his family met some lovely people at Disley Golf course for the charity day they were holding for Jakob. Thank you to Scott Jackson the organiser and thank you to the event sponsors HCSS EDUCATION & COMPETITIVE EDGE GOLF and thank you to everyone who took part.
In total they raised £2900, which was outstanding news
Thank you very much to George, Janet and Dan from the family run company, Chelford Mobile Services. They have kindly donated at least two portable toilets for this Saturday. Helping to make our Family Fun Day a success. Our plea for toilets was aired on imagine FM only last week, but through Alexis Welsh’s hard work and persistence, she came across this generous company. Thank you once again for your support.

The generosity of everybody involved in this event was so heart warming. In all honesty on Wednesday 21st July hope of this event being a success was withering away quickly when we received news that we would be starting the evening at a loss. With the support of those close to us we decided to continue with the event.
And what an event it was. We had an amazing Chocolate fountain donated by Heavenly Melted Chocolate for the evening, very popular with the ladies. The room looked superb with the addition of balloons, a giant teddy bear and coordinating table runners donated from Bear & Balloons.
The night wouldn’t have been complete without the wonderful music provided by The Sue Barron Jazz Quartet and the lively and entertaining compare for the evening Jane Hodson. Throughout the evening people were enjoying having their photos taken by Lightroom Photography, those of you who would like copies of your photos please click here and place your order with Lara.
The highlight of the evening had be the auction. We had our Manchester City Football club items that generated nearly £400.00. A whopping £300.00 was generated by our final auction item, took everyone’s breath away, a meal at McDonald’s with our little superstar Jakob, his brothers, Joshua & Harry and also Grandpa Jeff in his shorts. I absolutely can’t wait to see this, and thank you to the generosity of the winning bidder x
Ashlea Kirby our babysitter for Harry for the evening kindly donated her babysitting money of £35 to Jakob’s fund and 7 ladies arrived in a chauffeur driven car for £10 each to be donated to Jakob. Thank you both for your thoughtfulness.
What a night all that is left to announce is the grand total of funds raised: £1948.70
Thank you to everyone for your support it is greatly appreciated.
Wednesday 7th July 6:30pm - 3rd Hazel Grove Guides take part in a sponsored bike ride around Torkington Park.
Jakob joins the girls in their bike ride, he managed to complete 5 laps, on his own bike with a group of roller skaters by his side encouraging him.
All of the girl guides were lovely, considerate, girls. They made us proud with their efforts. Thank you girls and thank you Elise Chadwick for organising this event.
Sunday 4th July 10-4pm – we are bag packing in Morrisons Supermarket in Cheadle Heath.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped with this event…worker bees included: Alexis Welsh, Christine Firth, Beth Kate Firth, Tonje Harrigan, Diane Scott-Thomas, Brian Thomas, Tara Obrien & clan, Glyn and Jane Hodson.
who would have thought that bag packing would raise sooooo much money? We raised £768.93
